Car Parks | Shopping Malls

Joeline is receptionist in the Centre Management office of an urban shopping mall.

Centre Management decided to install an automatic parking system because customers would often complain about how difficult it was to find an empty car parking space. Parking is free for customers who park less than two hours, however premium rates are charged for all-day parking to discourage commuters from using the shopping mall as a “Park & Ride”.

Retail began to bustle but unfortunately… hardworking Joeline was suddenly overwhelmed by endless requests for assistance from customers stuck at the exit barrier gate.

There were all sorts of reasons why people got stuck at the exit!… young mothers exceeding the two hours free because they had to change a nappy, cinema goers not getting an extra one hour free because the validator was offline, and people not able to insert their ticket because something was stuck in the ticket reader slot.

Secure Intercom offered a perfect solution when Centre Management became concerned about Joeline’s extra workload and about losing so much customer goodwill.

Opening the exit barrier gate by simply pressing a number key on her telephone handset, saves Joeline lots of time when helping busy mums and bubs get on their way.

Joeline especially likes how easily she can hold open the exit barrier gate when soggy tickets get jammed on cold and miserable rainy days.

Health Care Facilities

Bradley is head of security at a newly established private hospital where, for obvious reasons, a state-of-the-art video surveillance system was required to monitor entry and exit points throughout the facility.

Secure Intercom was engaged to provide an innovative solution that used the hospital’s internal IP network infra-structure and incorporated high resolution cameras to minimise the number of installation locations. The solution had to be scalable for future growth and also ensure that the hospital’s internal IP network infra-structure was not overloaded when streaming camera images back to Bradley’s security office.

The hospital also required Secure Intercom to integrate the video surveillance system with a third party intercom system so that an external after hours customer assistance centre could have live video “pop-up” when answering calls for help from the entry or exit points.

Secure Intercom’s 800EMS Unified Intercom Platform was ideal for this particular project and provided a no disruption to operations solution that immediately increased efficiency of staff. Security of visitors has been greatly enhanced by realtime camera images being available at the after hours customer assistance centre and recording intercom calls for coaching and training purposes has positively impacted the overall customer experience.
